Requirements

Mandatory requirements

• A PC running a contemporary Windows operating system is required to use OE Classic. The software is compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows. OE Classic employs a graceful degradation mechanism, wherein it adjusts its features based on the version of Windows being used, ensuring compatibility with older versions. The supported Windows versions include:

• Memory/processor requirements as recommended for your operating system. OE Classic will use extra memory or faster processor to operate better.
• Enough disk space for storing messages depending on your needs. OE Classic will warn you if you approach low disk space.
• Internet connection (when synchronizing messages, checking new version, etc.)
• If you use an antivirus or a firewall, it must allow OE Classic to connect to the Internet.

Optional requirements

• Email server supporting IMAP/POP/SMTP protocols (one or more), provided by your email provider.
• Usenet news server (NNTP server), provided by your Usenet provider.
